One of the most common food allergies among children is a peanut allergies. So like most schools who serve school lunch and snack, we do not serve any peanuts whatsoever. Additionally, our chef does not use eggs, milk, butter, or cheese - instead using olive and sesame oils, tofu, as well as soy milk. She does not use much oil or sugars when she cooks. She believes in the preparation of simple healthy dishes. Chef Saito, our in-house chef from Japan, has had a lifelong interest in nutrition and healthy wholesome foods. She trained at the Kushi Macrobiotic School of Japan. Locally, she has studied at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary school of Thailand.
Combining her knowledge of culinary techniques with a healthy approach, she creates food that is tasty and good for the kids. We have quite few students who are picky eaters, so it was a nice surprise to see many of them going back for a second and sometimes even a third helping. Bravo, chef!
