What is the difference between Arts & Crafts?

Art & Craft is so important in children’s development stages. It helps them with their fine motor skills, hand & eye coordination, inspires creativity, boosts self-esteem; and encourages them to express their feelings.

Most of the people today do not see the difference between arts and crafts as they are both forms of creativity. Art is an open-minded form of work that expresses feelings, expressions and ideas that are created through imagination. Whereas craft is an activity that involves making practical objects by hands.

Our Y1 student, Tadashi, created a fantastic piece of art: an umbrella with crystal raindrops. He is trying to express that on this morning when he arrived at school, it was raining.  Such a creative way to voice his emotions and express a recent memory! A true artist!
